About the Zeigenbein Family

We are the Zeigenbein family and live in Southern Indiana with our two daughters, Elynn and Natalie, where we own and operate Stillwater Farms. We have a 240-acre farm that includes running about 90 head of registered stock and maintaining a decent sized poultry operation where we grow about 60,000 turkeys at a time year-round. I have always been a production minded cattleman. I started helping my grandfather with cattle when I was a child and have been managing my own herd since the 1990’s.

We bought our first Braunvieh bull back in 2014 and planned to use him on a commercial herd I had been building since I was a teenager. The hope was to increase wean weights, improve foot scores, and add bone structure. At the time I also invested in two purebred Braunvieh heifers. I was so impressed with those three animals the next spring I went back invested in another small group of purebred heifers. From there the seed was planted. Within the next year we transitioned most of our herd to registered purebred and Braunvieh influenced cattle.
