Christmas Break = a trip to Cattlemen's Congress. You all know how hard the girls work with their heifers. This week we were blessed to enjoy some fruits of our labor. Cow shows are so much more than just showing off our girls. It also means we get to spend time with some people we enjoy and have built amazing friendships with.
A huge shout out to A. W. Thorne Land & Cattle, Inc., Abbie and Joan! These long trips would be impossible without them always willing to put us up along the way. Joan always has a warm meal, hot shower, and great conversation waiting. Not to mention they are the best cheerleaders. Always rooting for and giving the girls some tips.
Natalie got into the rock music at the show and was captured with out her knowledge. But what a fun time she had with her new heifer and friends. Thanks Clydene for the video!
Elynn was honored to win Reserve Purebred Braunvieh heifer in the JR and Open show with WW MY Candita 378L, better known as "Lainey".
Natalie had a very strong showing with her little heifer. Winning her division in the JR show and Reserve Division in the open show with WCCR Eillie 4072. This little lady did perfect for her first time out and we have hopes watching her grow.
A huge shoutout to Gonzales Braunvieh Ranch on their Grand Champion Braunvieh Bull win. SW Border Patrol, bred by Elynn. This family is some of our favorites and having worked very hard to make this bull awesome.

We are thrilled to invite you to the first annual Top of the Mountain Elite Sale, taking place on April 26, 2025, at our farm just outside Searcy, AR. This event will showcase some of the finest Fullblood, Purebred, and Percentage Braunvieh, Angus, and Simmental cattle, brought to you by a select group of breeders. This sale would not have been possible without the vision from Eddie Zeigenbein (Stillwater Farms) and many others. While Chris and Jalyn had long discussed hosting a sale of their own, it was the encouragement of friends and fellow breeders that pushed to make this dream a reality. Jay H Farms, LLC, founded in 2004 by Chris and Nesha Smith, began as a small commercial cattle operation. However, when our daughter Jalyn discovered her passion for cattle, the farm took a new direction. To support her growing interest, the farm invested in registered Braunvieh females, allowing Jalyn to develop her own breeding program. Her enthusiasm only grew when she was introduced to AI and embryo transfer technology, which elevated Jay H Farm’s genetics and expanded its focus beyond Braunvieh to include other high-quality breeds. We take great pride in producing cattle known for their strong genetics, health, and performance. We are proud to work alongside other exceptional breeders to bring you an outstanding selection of cattle at this sale. Whether you’re looking to diversify your herd, enhance genetics, or improve overall herd quality, this event is the perfect opportunity to acquire some of the best cattle available. We invite you to join us for this special occasion.
